Just because you don't play cricket doesn't mean you can't become involved with a cricket club. Being a part of a cricket club can be an incredibly rewarding experience, whether you are a scorer, administrator, masseur, scoreboard attendant, team manager, practice captain, support staff, kiosk co-ordinator, coaching assistant, selector, committee-person or social member.

Premier Cricket Coaching Opportunity


Scarborough Cricket Club (SCC) has an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced coach to join one of the most successful Clubs in Premier Cricket, as Head Coach. This is a unique opportunity to build on the successes of the 2019/20 season where SCC took out the Premier Cricket Club Championship.


Head Coach


  • Reporting to Playing Committee and Club President

    Skills Required


  • Cricket coaching qualifications preferable CA level 2 and above
  • Cricket playing experience at a high level
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills on both a group and individual level
  • Clear understanding of and ability to demonstrated appropriate code of behaviour on and off the ground
  • Experience of working collaboratively with others
  • High level of organisational skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised
  • An understanding of the operational and cultural environment of WA cricket.
  • Ability to critically evaluate player skills and offer correctional advice
  • Ability to create an environment for Premier cricketers to thrive and have success
  • Ability to identify talented players
  • A patient, positive and encouraging manner with players (may include underage children)
  • Must hold a current Working With Children Card


Key Roles and Responsibility


  • Communicate and demonstrate the required standard of player’s code of behaviour on and off the field as representatives of the SCC.
  • As required maintain communication with the SCC Playing Committee regarding the coaching plans and performance of assistant, specialised coaches and the playing squad.
  • Where relevant support SCC meeting to meet WACA Premier Club grant requirements
  • Representing the SCC at official events or meeting as required.
  • Development, implementation and communicate the Clubs coaching strategies, goals and game plans to all senior coaches and players. This includes ensuring there is adequate engagement and connection between the SCC Senior Coaching Group and Junior Coach Coordinator and Junior Coaches.
  • Ensure assistant and specialised coaches for the senior squad are conducting their duties appropriately and on an ongoing basis.
  • Attend and participate in SCC senior team selections.
  • Oversee the preparation and development of SCC teams who compete at all levels. This includes;
  • Plan and facilitating all training sessions;
  • Working “one on one” with individuals to identify and improve performance
  • To drive and implement a coaching strategy based on The Australian Way Coaching Philosophy
  • Plan the Club’s pre-season and in-season training programmes with identified training phases that are recognised and deliverable by all appointed coaching staff.
  • Coordinate pre-season and in-season training/development programmes (skills, strategy and physical preparation) in consultation with all Club appointed coaches, cricket specialists and players.
  • Promote and support individual player Personal Development programs and initiatives
  • Assist with Team Selections
  • Attendance at State development opportunities to develop knowledge in coaching space (and if requirement for Premier Cricket grant funding).
  • Liaise with Regional Cricket Manager and/or State Pathways Manager regarding Junior Pathways and any potential representatives from your Club.
  • Operate within the agreed budge
  • During season approx 15 to 20 hours a week + Weekends (paid role)
    • All club training as required by the club
    • Attend All Club Functions

Junior District Coaches


Claremont Nedlands Cricket Club is one of the leading cricket clubs in the state, having won a number of Club Championships and Premierships over recent years and having developed a number of players to play at the next level.


We are looking to fill the roles of Coaches for our U13 Inverarity Shield, U14 McKenzie Shield, U15 WACA, and U17 Hussey Shield teams - to assist with the development of our junior players and contribute to the ongoing success of our Club.


Our preference is for coaches with a Level 2 CA Coaching Accreditation, with a thorough knowledge of the game and good communication skills.

Chairman of Selectors


The Fremantle District Cricket Cub has a proud history of developing state and national players. Under Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) Premier Cricket Program for the 2020/2021 season, the FDCC is seeking expressions of interest from ACA members who may be willing to join our Club in our quest for excellence and premiership success for the forthcoming season by undertaking the role of Chairman of Selectors.


The FDCC has four senior teams with the current coaching structure comprising of a Director of Cricket, Head Coach, Senior Assistant Coach and two Assistant Coaches providing technical batting and bowling advice to our entire playing group.


The Chairman of Selectors will facilitate each selection meeting for the four senior grades. The Selection Sub-Committee consists of the Chairman, Director of Cricket and Head Coach. From time-to-time other members may be co-opted to participate in the selection meeting.


The skills and key roles for this position are:

  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Sound understanding of the Premier Cricket General Rules and Playing Conditions


Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and Chair team selection meetings with Director of Cricket and Head Coach.
  • Ensure the Clubs Selection Principles and Premier Cricket selection criteria are complied with.
  • Liaises with the Vice President (Playing) to ensure timely submission of player permits (when required) and team selections into MyCricket.
  • Manages and maintains selection spreadsheet.
  • Liaises with Captains, Director of Cricket, Head Coach and Junior Co-ordinator (where required) regarding selections/availability (eg State payers availability/player injuries).
  • Liaise with Director Cricket, Head Coach and Vice President (Playing) in relation late selection changes.
  • Attend matches of all grades when required and available.
