Female A Grade


South Perth 5/91 def by Melville 3/94

Melville has sealed their 3rd win of the season with a win over South Perth. South Perth who won the toss and elected to bat first on Richardson Park. Batting proved to be difficult as South Perth suffered a slow start with the bat. Wickets from Renee Chappell and Melissa Bownes kept South Perth to a total of 91 off 20 overs. Mainwaring (19) and Nicky Shaw (18) were the top scorers for South Perth. In response South Perth’s bowlers took up the challenge bowling tight and picking up wickets. However, Melville’s Meg Thompson (42) stood up and remained unbeaten to reach the total in the 19th over.


Subiaco Floreat 9/93 def by University 3/137

University sealed their first win of the T20 Competition on Sunday playing against Subiaco-Floreat. Winning the toss and batting first the home side notched up a strong total of 137 off their 20 overs.  Emily Smith (30) and Tansi Price (45 n.o) we’re impressive with the bat. In response University’s bowlers restricted Subiaco-Floreat very well, early on claiming early wickets made it very difficult to gain momentum. Lauren Nicholson (20) and Jessica Emery (24 not out) tried hard but at the end of the 20 overs they finished with 9/93. Rebecca Grundy, Nicole Ayres and Tansi Price all took multiple wickets.


Female B Grade


South Perth 1/104 def Melville 3/102

South Perth enjoyed a win at home against Melville on Sunday. Melville won the toss and elected to bat first. Gabrielle Simmonds (35) was in some good from at the top of the order alongside Lauren Thompson (21) helped reach a defendable total of 102 from 20 overs. Poppy Stockwell was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets. In response Melanie Healy (59 from 48 balls) provided a match-winning knock for South Perth reaching the boundary 8 times. B Turriff-Smith (20) also contributed with the bat as they reached the total in the 18th Over.
