WA Premier Cricket Inverarity and McKenzie Shield Player of the Round - Round 5 2018/19

Each round the most outstanding players of the Inverarity and McKenzie Shield competitions are recognised as the Players of the Round. The Player of the Round is determined by a points system with all winners receiving a certificate at the Junior Awards Night.

 

 

 

ROUND 5

 

 

 

McKenzie Shield (Under 14s)

 

The McKenzie Shield Player of the Round is Jake Gerrans (Joondalup). As Joondalup completely outclassed Centurions by bowling them out for 26, Jake took 3 catches in the field to help his team's cause. Coming out to bat, he came in at number 3 and played a superb innings of 72 off 103 balls in some very tough batting conditions. He played a key role in maximizing his team's strong performance in the game as he hit 7 fours in the innings to prove his class and a talented batter. Well Done Jake!

 

 

Inverarity Shield (Under 13s)

 

The Inverarity Shield Player of the Round is Zac Petersen (South Perth). As Gosnells won the toss to come out and bat but were left outclassed by a superb bowling effort from South Perth which saw them bowl out the Hawks for 95. Zac led the way for his team with the ball with fantastic figures of 3/10 off 7.5 overs including 3 maidens. He showed his value in the field by taking 3 catches as well. As if that wasn't enough, he came out to bat for his team at number 4 and took the game completely away from Gosnells by scoring 83 off 99 balls which included 10 fours and 2 sixes. This capped off a wonderful day of all-round brilliance from Zac. Superb effort!
