Male Premier Cricket Review - Saturday 19th January 2019

The Male Premier Cricket season continued with One-Day matches played over Saturday 19th January 2019. To catch up with highlights from the lower grades please read below and check out all of the scores on MyCricket. 

 

 

Round 11

 

 

2nd Grade

 

Wanneroo took down South Perth to claim an easy win guided largely thanks to brilliant knock of 74* by Chad Hitchcock. Fremantle defeated Midland-Guildford as Bayley Holman (71) held the innings together to get the Port over the shore. Willetton defeated Gosnells in a close match but an all-round team effort got the Dragons over the line as Josh Boyne (80) was the lone standout for Gosnells. Scarborough won an easy game against University as Sean O'Callaghan (5/24) led the way with the ball which was followed up by a brisk chase courtesy of quickfire knocks from Ricardo de Nobrega (83) and Luke McQuade (51). Ben Tredget (91) and Chris Isles (50) set up a solid opening partnership to help Subiaco-Floreat to a big win over Claremont-Nedlands. A solid batting effort led by Jacob Van Galen (67) and Adam Disisto (53) was backed up by all-round bowling effort to give Perth an easy win over Bayswater-Morley. Joondalup lost to Mount Lawley as Liam Ward-Armstrong (4/14) played a key role in keeping Joondalup to a low score where Joondalup's Duncan Taylor (74) was the only highlight in their batting before Corey Evans (66) guided the Hawks home to a comfortable win. Rockingham-Mandurah went down to Melville as the Storm batters Adam Shaw (65), Luke Johnstone (56) & James Holt (51) enjoyed some great batting conditions to which Mariners had no answer to. 

 

3rd Grade

 

University defeated Scarborough as Aaron Lange (5/30) played a key role in restricting Scarborough before the batters chased down the total. Wanneroo defeated South Perth as James Dicarlo (61) was the key performer for the Kangaroos. Midland-Guildford won against Fremantle courtesy of a masterful knock by Matthew Ferreira (104). Melville defeated Rockingham-Mandurah as Matthew Bowlder (53) led the chase for the Storm. Gosnells defeated Willetton as Baden Norwood (98*) narrowly missed out on a ton to guide his team home. Subiaco-Floreat defeated Claremont-Nedlands as the bowlers contributed to a dominated win led by Tom Murray (4/20). Joondalup won against Mount Lawley as Ewan Crawley (61) led the way with the bat before the bowlers finished the job off in second innings. Bayswater Morley were dominated by Perth as Michael Neves (81) and Aidan Enright (73) were standout performers in the Demons' dominant win.

 

4th Grade

 

Teague Wyllie (62) led the way for Rockingham-Mandurah as they defeated Melville. Claremont-Nedlands defeated Subiaco-Floreat as the whole team chipped in with an all-round effort. Gosnells defeated Willetton as the bowlers dominated the game. Wanneroo went down against South Perth as Lachlan Higham (77) played a great knock before Kane Hanson (4/32) finished the job off with the ball. Fremantle sunk Midland-Guildford as a strong all-round bowling effort helped them defend a low total against the Swans. Scarborough went down to University as Jeet Bhatt (93) made all the difference in giving University a dominant total before Cassie Stephens (4/20) led the way with the ball to get the team home. Perth won against Bayswater-Morley as Alex Snadden (50) led the chase to guide his team home. Mount Lawley won a close game against Joondalup as Sam Dimond (66) made sure his team gets over the line.

 

 

Two-Day cricket returns for the first time in the new year to continue the WA Premier Cricket season next week.
