Each round the most outstanding players of the Inverarity and McKenzie Shield competitions are recognised as the Players of the Round. The Player of the Round is determined by a points system with all winners receiving a certificate at the Junior Awards Night.
The McKenzie Shield Player of the Round is Wil Filmer (Perth). Wil played a fantastic innings of 121* off 144 balls, where he carried his bat throughout the innings. He took charm to Gosnells bowling by smashing 15 fours in his marathon innings. He backed that effort in field by being the pick of the bowlers, picking up 3/24 off his 6.2 overs. His contributions were the main difference between the teams as Gosnells didn't even manage to score as much as his score alone, being all out for 113. Superb effort from Wil!
The Inverarity Shield Player of the Round is Keith Munasinghe (South Perth). Keith came in to bat after a strong opening start, he continued to build on his team's dominance by smashing a swashbuckling 80 off 61 balls. The entertaining innings included 12 fours and 1 six. He was brilliant all round as he bowled well to pick up 2/37 off his 6 overs and also took a catch while fielding. A strong all-round start for the youngster, well done Keith!
