Male Premier Cricket Review - Saturday 26th October & 2nd November 2019

The Alochol.ThinkAgain Male Premier Cricket continued with its first two-day round played on Saturday 26th October & 2nd November 2019 in the Senior Men's competition. A change of format shifted the approach of players as some quality cricket was witnessed all around.  To catch up with highlights from the lower grades please read below and check out all of the scores on MyCricket. 

 

 

Round 5

 

 

2nd Grade

 

Jake Egan (76) & Rhys Hampson (72) batted well and Joshua Frame took 5/25 to give Bayswater-Morley a strong win against Melville.

Matthew Micale (111) & Ben Moore (95) were brilliant for Fremantle on day 1 before the match was drawn due to inclement weather. Harry Crane top-scored for the Tigers with 83.

Jacob Woodhouse (79) was a standout performer on day 1 as Gosnells drew University due to the match being abandoned on day 2.

Scarborough's Cooper Connolly & Liam McQuade were superb in making 114 each as Brendan McPhee took 5/50 to take Gulls home in a dominant win against Joondalup.

Midland-Guildford defeated South Perth courtesy of strong batting performances from Austin Thomas (115) & Brayden Brehaut (89) as Sam Orme and Matthew O'Keefe took 4 wickets each.

Mount Lawley defeated Perth as Jeffrey Willey (103*) & Ethan Petta (102) headlined with strong centuries.

Willetton defeated Rockingham-Mandurah as Prad Gunaratne was brilliant in scoring 108*. Lachlan Lake made 72 while Nick Blazevich took 4/31.

Subiaco-Floreat made 263 on day 1 as Bailey Gregson top-scored with 83* before the match was abandoned on day 2 against Wanneroo. 

 

 

3rd Grade

 

Craig Hagger (116) was superb while Christiaan Moir (99) agonisingly missed out on a ton to take Midland-Guildford to 406 before the match was abandoned on day 2 due to inclement weather.

Fremantle defeated Claremont-Nedlands outright as Robbie Holmes picked up match figures of 8/47, with a 5-wicket haul in first innings. Matthew Voorn top-scored with 80*.

Bayswater-Morley drew Melville as match was abandoned on day 2 due to inclement weather before the Bears put on a strong total of 270.

Perth defeated Mount Lawley. Nathan Ellett's superb 7/47 wasn't backed up by Hawks' bowlers as Martyn Bernardino (5/20) was brilliant in bowling Mount Lawley out for 118.

Scarborough defeated Joondalup as Sean Costello (71) top-scored with the bat while Corey Young (4/30) was the standout with the ball.

Wanneroo defeated Subiaco-Floreat as Donavinn Fryer (91) & Mitchell Slattey (89) led the way with the bat for the Roos.

University defeated Gosnells courtesy of 4/30 from Grey Johnston.

Willetton defeated Rockingham-Mandurah as Josh Kuser was sensational in picking up 8/22 to outclass the Mariners in a dominant 255-run win.

 

 

4th Grade

 

Several fifites saw Bayswater-Morley score 320 after which Mal Wilde (4/25) bowled well to dismiss Melville for 126 to take a win for the Bears.

Fremantle defeated Claremont-Nedlands as Lukas Debnam bowled well to pick up 4/21.

Gosnells drew University as Stephen Montogomery (4/50) bowled well. Joshua Thorneycraft top-scored with 64 before match was abandoned on day 2. 

Kai Orr (68) batted well & Rajit Bose (4/33) bowled well for Joondalup to get a win over Scarborough.

Midland-Guildford defeated South Perth as Benjamin Skinner took 4/30. Oliver Voorn top-scored with 69.

Perth won outright against Mount Lawley as Kunal Mishra took 5/13 in first innings while Philip Berenger took 4/36.

Willetton defeated Rockingham-Mandurah as Angat Mangat was the standout performer with 5/28.

Muhammad Yaseen bowled well, picking up 4/15 for Wanneroo before their match against Subiaco-Floreat was abandoned on day 2.

 

 

Two-Day cricket continues in Round 6 of the WA Premier Cricket season over the next two weekends.
