Date of Event Western Australian Cricket Association: Wed Nov 27, 2019 12:40PM

Each round the most outstanding players of the Inverarity and McKenzie Shield competitions are recognised as the Players of the Round. The Player of the Round is determined by a points system with all winners receiving a certificate at the Junior Awards Night.

McKenzie Shield (Under 14s)

The McKenzie Shield Player of the Round is Sean Thompson (Melville). After losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, Sean contributed for his team with some tidy work behind the stumps. As the bowlers bowled well to dismiss Fremantle for 135, Sean took 2 catches and inflicted a stumping. In response, Sean opened the batting and was the stand out performer, scoring 76 off 151 balls, including 8 fours to guide his team to a win. Well done Sean!

Inverarity Shield (Under 13s)

The Inverarity Shield Player of the Round is Tyne Dodds (Rockingham-Mandurah). After being asked to bowl first by South Perth, Tyne bowled very well to pick up 3 for 28 off his 8 overs. He also took a catch. It was a challenging target of 165 but Tyne opened the batting for Rockingham-Mandurah and gave them a solid start, scoring 59 off 102 balls, including 4 fours. Unfortunately the rest of the team couldn't chip in towards the win but great effort from Tyne!
