WA Premier Cricket Inverarity and McKenzie Shield Player of the Round - Round 6 2019/20

Each round the most outstanding players of the Inverarity and McKenzie Shield competitions are recognised as the Players of the Round. The Player of the Round is determined by a points system with all winners receiving a certificate at the Junior Awards Night.






McKenzie Shield (Under 14s)

The McKenzie Shield Player of the Round is Logan Burress (Scarborough). As Centurions won the toss and elected to bat first, Logan's bowling was instrumental in restricted the opposition to 9/175. Logan was the pick of the bowlers as he returned superb figures of 4/22 off 10 overs, including 4 maidens! Chasing the total, the batters played well and Logan made an impressive contribution by scoring 25 runs off 22 balls, including 3 fours to take his team to victory as Scarborough finished with 3/200 off their 50 overs. Well done Logan! 



Inverarity Shield (Under 13s)

The Inverarity Shield Player of the Round is Jack Zagar (Bayswater-Morley). As Midland-Guildford batted first, Jack opened the bowling for his team. He took 2 wickets in his opening spell to put Bayswater-Morley on top as he returned in the second spell to take another one. This impressive display of bowling restricted Midland-Guildford to 6/135 off their 40 overs with Jack picking up brilliant figures of3/5 off 5 overs, including 2 maidens. It was a close chase as Bayswater-Morley won by scoring 9/140 off their 40 overs. Jack led the way with the bat, carrying his team through for majority of the innings to finish with a superb knock of 77. Great effort Jack!
