Each round the most outstanding players of the Inverarity and McKenzie Shield competitions are recognised as the Players of the Round. The Player of the Round is determined by a points system with all winners receiving a certificate at the Junior Awards Night.
The McKenzie Shield Player of the Round is Jordan Roads (Midland-Guildford). Roads played a fantastic innings of 157 runs off 152 balls, where he carried his bat throughout the innings. He took charm to Centurions bowling making the pitch look like a road by smashing 22 fours in his marathon innings. This was his first Under 14's century while second WA Premier Cricket juniors, having previously scored a century in Under 13's. Jordan now has a whopping average of 234 in the season! He backed that effort in field with a catch and was the main difference between the teams as Centurions didn't even manage to score as much as his score alone, being all out for 96. Superb effort from Jordan!
The Inverarity Shield Player of the Round is Nicholas Davidson (Joondalup). Davidson wins the award back-to-back after his last round heroics as he bettered those efforts with both bat and ball. A special moment for Nicholas as he brought up his maiden WA Premier Cricket Juniors century with a well compiled innings of 107 runs of 109 balls. This knock included 16 fours as he remained not out again after coming in at 3. This takes his season batting average to 207! He made sure Mount Lawley don't get any way near the target as he backed up a superb batting effort with brilliant bowling figures of 3/27 off 4 overs which played a key role in bowling Mount Lawley out for 88. Well Done Nicholas!
