A Grade


Melville 6/110 def Subiaco Floreat 7/75


Subiaco Floreat won the toss and elected to field first sending Melville into bat. Mathilda Carmichael hit a massive 72 runs off just 53 balls as no other player in the side could score more than 10. Meanwhile, Subiaco Floreat’s Heather Graham was the pick of the bowlers taking a miserly 2/8 off her 4 overs, leaving Subiaco Floreat with 111 runs to win the A Grade T20 Premiership. At the most crucial point in the competition, Subiaco Floreat’s opening batters weren’t able to perform, as the top scores came from 7th and 8th batters Shenae Reichelt (23no) and Millie Monaghan (19). Melville’s Amy Edgar and Melissa Bownes both took 2 wickets in restricting Subiaco Floreat to 7/75, claiming the win as Champions of the 2018-19 T20 competition.


B Grade


Melville 5/115 def Subiaco Floreat 7/94


The wind held off for the B Grade Final at Tompkins Park which saw Melville win the toss and elect to bat. Player of the Match, Jessica Row, stepped up to the plate for Melville with 41 runs off 41 balls followed by both Alana Jones and Lauren Shaw on 20 runs. Sophie Fletcher topped the wickets for Subiaco Floreat taking 2 wickets in 3 overs. The innings saw the full 20 overs completed with Melville making 5/115. Subiaco Floreat’s Kathryn Handicott opened beautifully top scoring for the match with 42 runs. The team was looking a chance at claiming the win, however Melville’s bowlers applied the pressure with Natasha Wylie taking 2 wickets and the team also making 2 run outs. Subiaco Floreat kept fighting but fell short by 21 runs.
