Female A Grade Review


Following Round 1 of the Men’s 1st & 2nd Grade Premier Cricket Competitions on Saturday the 3rd of October, the Female A Grade Competition opened the season with back-to-back matches at Alderbury Reserve on Sunday 4th October.




Midland-Guildford 4/150 (20.0) def South Perth 7/101 (20.0)

South Perth won the toss sending Midland-Guildford into bat for the opening innings of the 2020-21 Season. Two early wickets saw WA Women's & WBBL contracted allrounder Taneale Peschel (43) and recruit Alana King (37) set up the innings for the Swans. Lauren Blizard sealed the win with a top score for the match of 45no, ending the teams innings with a solid 150runs. The right-arm leg-spinner, Alana King, continued a star performance with 3/12 early in the innings taking out South Perth’s top batsmen. Rebecca West top scored for South Perth with 31no, but couldn’t find a partnership to chase down the Swans.



Subiaco-Floreat 1/95 (12.0) def Melville 7/94 (20.0)

Melville elected to bat with the 2019/20 Karen Read Medallist, Amy Edgar, opening the batting and top scoring with 41. Subiaco-Floreat put the pressure on with quick wickets taken by the likes of Nicole Bolton (3/22), Emma King (2/8) and Jessica Emery (2/10) to slow the Storms score down to just 94. Nicole Bolton brought the heat in Subiaco-Floreat’s batting innings with 46no, supported by both Megan Banting (22) and Millie Monaghan (12no) to bring home the win in just 12 overs.
