Subiaco-Floreat 9/116 (20.0) def Midland-Guildford 8/78 (20.0)

Subiaco-Floreat won the toss and elected to bat. Despite an early wicket falling, Nicole Bolton held the fort with a solid 55 off 40 balls. The wickets started to fall quickly with captain Emma King, seeing the innings through on 28no to close with an overall score of 9/116. Taneale Peschel was the standout bowler for the Swans with 3/15. Subiaco-Floreat were determined to claim their 2nd win in a row for the season with Bolton (2/13) and King (2/20) restricting Midland-Guildford’s top batters, as Midland Guildford were only able to muster 8/78 in the chase to secure a Subiaco Floreat win.

Melville 5/153 (20.0) def South Perth 7/113 (20.0)

Melville and South Perth had the opportunity to play at the WACA which was a new and exciting experience for many of the players. Amy Edgar and Mathilda Carmichael opened for Melville having won the toss and electing to bat. Carmichael starred with 77 whilst being well supported by Ashlee King (30), together adding a 101-run partnership. South Perth’s Tyler Jones was looking promising for a hat trick at one stage, ending the innings with 2/31. South Perth had a big chase ahead of them, but some early wickets and strong performances with the ball from Melville’s bowlers challenged the side. Rebecca West top scored with 36no but, Melville Captain Niamh Walsh, sealed the deal for the team claiming (3/13).
