Each round the most outstanding players of the Inverarity and McKenzie Shield competitions are recognised as the Players of the Round. The Player of the Round is determined by a points system with all winners receiving a certificate at the Junior Awards Night.
The McKenzie Shield Player of the Round is Cruz Harber-Connell (Scarborough). Winning the toss, Scarborough had no hesitation in batting first. As captain, Cruz led his team from the front, opening the batting. While others contributed and fell, Cruz remained unbeaten in a back-to-back score of 122*, this time coming from 150 balls. His innings included 14 fours to set his team a winning total of 239. This superb effort from Cruz earned him the Player of the Round award across all junior grades!
The Inverarity Shield Player of the Round is Blake Arnold (Mount Lawley). Winning the toss, Mount Lawley had no hesitation in batting first. Blake opened the batting but was only able to score 7 runs off 24 balls, including a four. The rest of his team combined to set a decent total of 141. Opening the bowling, Blake proved his worth and took figures of 4/19 off 8 overs to win his team the match. Well done Blake!
